The Policy doesn’t apply to information you may provide to us in person at our networking or Uma Academy events, or to information provided by any other means. We reserve the right to modify the Policy at any time, and we will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Policy here and changing the “Effective Date” at the top of the page. Therefore, we encourage you to check this page periodically for any changes. By visiting the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by this Policy, as may be amended from time to time. Personal and other information collected on the Site is stored and processed in the United States of America. By using any of the Sites, you consent to our collection, transfer to (if applicable), and use and processing of such information in the U.S.A. If you do not agree to these terms, please navigate away from the Site and do not make any purchases or provide us with any personal information about you.

Collection of Information – Members: Uma Fellows
To be a member of the Site, you may be required to voluntarily provide your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, educational information, prior employment information and/or other personally identifiable information (“Uma Fellow Information”) as well as your views on relevant topics. If you sign up for certain services through the Site, then we may also collect certain financial information or sensitive information such as credit card information, bank account information, current employment information, and income. You may even have the opportunity to provide your résumé or CV in electronic form through the Site. If you provide any personal references, please note that it is your responsibility to obtain the consent from references before providing their personal information to us. By applying for membership through the Site, you consent to our use of your Member Information as described in this Policy. You may always refuse to provide the information requested through the Site but this may limit your ability to use our services. Please DO NOT include sensitive Personal Information (such as social security numbers or bank account information) in your resume or share such information with employers, recruiters, human resources personnel and other personnel registered through the Site (“Registered Employers”).

Collection of Information – Members: Uma Partners
To be a member of the Site, you may be required to voluntarily provide your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, business information and your/your company’s view on relevant topics (“Uma Partner Information”). If you sign up for certain services through the Site, then we may also collect certain financial information or sensitive information such as credit card information and bank account information. By applying for membership through the Site, you consent to our use of your Member Information as described in this Policy. You may always refuse to provide the information requested through the Site but this may limit your ability to use our services.

Collection of Information – Visitors
You may be asked to voluntarily provide your name, e-mail address and/or other personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) to have access to features of the Site. By using the Site and allowing us to access your Personal Information, you consent to our use of such information as described in this Policy. You may always refuse to provide your Personal Information, and this may lead to our inability to provide you with certain services through the Site. In this Policy, Member Information shall be included in the defined term “Personal Information.”

We hope that, by using Automated Information, we can update the Site to make it more useful to you and other users. We use Member Information and Personal Information for the following purposes: to administer your account; to process service requests; to administer and improve the Site and related services; to allow use of, or participation in, the Site and our services; to notify you of events or about our products, services, promotional events or special offers that maybe of interest to you; to provide Internet security; for any other lawful purpose; and to meet legal requirements. We use Member Information for these additional purposes: maintain a record of the networking events, Uma Academy workshops and Umaship jobs you view or for which you apply through the Site; inform you of relevant Umaships on the Site that may be of interest to you; and for posting your résumé or CV in our résumé database.

Do we share the information we collect with third parties?
While we do not share information we collect from you with third parties such as direct marketers, advertising agencies or mailing list companies, personal information may be shared with our employees and affiliated companies for the purposes set forth above. We also may engage trusted third party service providers to perform functions and provide services to us, such as hosting and maintaining our servers and the Site, database storage and management, e-mail marketing for our services. We may share your personal information with these third parties to enable them to perform these services for us and for you.

This Site may contain advertisements and links to other websites. The fact that we link to another site is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party. Other sites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, and collect or solicit both personally identifiable and non-personally identifiable information from you under rules different from this Policy. We do not control other sites and can’t be responsible for your experience once you leave our Site.
